Stage - Sallie Snyder

Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal Friday, 12 January 1900

Again has the grim messenger death entered our midst and taken from our companionship one of our loved ones, Sallie Stage, youngest child of Andrew J. and Elizabeth Snyder, was born at Yountsville, Oct. 4, 1864, and died at her home in Vallonia, Ind., Jan. 1, 1900, aged 35 years, two months and 27 days. Her death was due to a complication of diseases, of which rheumatic fever and throat trouble were the most prominent. She was married to Wm Stage, Jan. 15, 1891, and to this union was born one child, Russell, who still survives her. She was also a kind and loving mother to two children of a former wife of Wm Stage, Maude, aged 17 years, and Earl, aged 12 years.

She united with the M. E. Church when she was 17 years of age, and has since then been a faithful and devoted member. During her recent illness of many weeks, she suffered the most intense pain, but bore it all with that untiring patience characteristic of a true Christian. To say that she will be missed by her family and neighbors is but a mile expression of the truth.

She leaves a husband, one child, two stepchildren, an aged mother, a sister, three brothers, and a host of friends to mourn her loss. The remains were laid to rest at the Vallonia Cemetery, Jan. 3, 1900. =s
